New Features - Winter 2010
New Features
Ability to Adjust Number of Tries within Questions
Instructors can now choose the number of times students can work each answer field within a question, changing the default of three tries to any number between 1 and 99. They do this either at the question level from the Preview & Add or Remove window or at the assignment level from View Question Details.
Homework Affects Mastery in Study Plan
Instructors now have the option to allow Homework to affect the Study Plan. In addition, they can control which assignment types affect the Study Plan and determine mastery. On the Mastery Options page in the Study Plan Manager, they can include Homework, exclude Sample Tests or Quizzes, and specify the percentage score needed for mastery in each assignment type.
Ability to Hide Test Score and/or Question Results
A new “Results Display” section on the assignment Settings page lets instructors choose whether to show students their test scores and question results (the current display), show test scores only, or show neither. When show no results is selected, students see their Results page immediately after submitting a test or quiz, however, dashes appear in the column where scores would normally be.
Ability to Copy and Edit Exercise from Preview and Add
Instructors can click the copy and edit button while in Preview and Add and go right into the Custom Question Builder to customize their own version of the exercise. This edited exercise can then be added immediately to the current assignment
Item Analysis for Pooled Tests and Quizzes
On tests and quizzes that use pooled questions, instructors now have item-level student performance statistics. This will allow you to analyze how the class and individual students performed by test question and objective and also gauge the relative difficulty of questions from the same pool.
Rolled-up Coordinator Course Exports
Coordinator course instructors can choose to generate Advanced Exports of student results for all Member courses to which they have access in one file. This file also contains summary information of student performance across the entire course group.
Preloaded Courses
Select courses in econ will have a preloaded option. Instructors can choose to create a course containing assignments selected by course-specific authors. Simple choose the dates you want your course to start and end and premade assignments show up in your course with start and end dates based on the information you provide. You have the options to choose on which days of the week assignments are assigned, and to easily remove sections or chapters.
